Christian Academy
In late 2005, the Pierre's visited the community of Chambrun and
were compelled to help the community. They saw many children running around in
the community when they should have been in school and that is when they decided
to step out in faith and start the Nehemiah Christian Academy.
In January 2006 the school opened in an abandoned four room
building in the middle of the community in Chambrun. The Pierre's hired four
teachers and invited 25 children to attend the school where they could begin
their education.
After a few weeks of the school being opened the teachers noticed
that many of the children were passing out in class and determined that those
children hadn't eaten in several days. The Pierre's then reached out to their
circle of influence and were able to begin a feeding program three days a week.
Each year the school has almost doubled in size and NVM has
partnered with many people and organization to help give these children hope
for a future. NVM now has its own preschool and primary school buildings, a
daily feeding program for the students of the NCA and a medical clinic.
