Chambrun, Haiti: By the Grace of God
The third year of the Nehemiah Christian Academy has begun with not only blessings but also struggles. The children have been blessed with receiving a hot meal daily and continued education. The student count has aslo increased from 65 to 105 which is a blessing too but our struggle is being able to house the children in such a small building. We are about to finish clearing our property and begin preparing for the school building foundation. We thank everyone who has helped us raise the money for our new school building.
In mid September, a small medical team provided basic health screenings for the students and teachers of the NCA. Some of the children were a little nervous since it was there first time to have someone check their vitals but they all did very well. Each child was treated for worms and many others for scabies. The older children were also given an illiteracy test to check their vision.
Pastor Pierre was also able to present the "Love Packages" sent from each of the child sponsorship families. This event was not only a blessing to the children who received the gifts but a blessing to the families of the children. One family has three little girls and two of them attend the NCA. Those same two children are sponsored by seperate families. The children are raised by a single mom who is in her twenties and has a problem with her legs. She has to walk with a stick, her little legs shake making it difficult for her to get around.A crowd surrounded Pastor Pierre as he presented the gifts to the children of the crippled mother. why was this family blessed in a village that has nothing. Only to show the love of Christ and to glorify Him through the gifts of each sponsor family. Thank you!
