August 2006 Update

Dear friends,

I wish you were here to see the growth and development of Nehemiah Christian Academy. Let me just share what the Lord has done over the past year.

As you are aware, about 10 months ago we became proactive in the community of Chambrun where we started a primary school, there teenagers were known for promiscuity and corruption; because of lack of guidance, vision and education.

Dianne and I started NCA with fifty children. We are thankful that the first year is now completed and fifty kids have passed from one grade to another. The ministry of NCA has extended not only to the community of Chambrun, where the school is located but to neighboring towns where students are coming, walking for miles to be educated.

We are reminded that whatever the Lord has started he is able and WILL DO IT. Doing it for us involved stepping out in faith, and as a result with your partnership NCA was able to:

1) Have a student body of 50 students with 3 teachers.

2)The feeding program which first seemed like a mountain of challenges has provided meals for the many malnourished students three times per week who are fed a meal of rice and beans and sauce with a drink.

3) The parents who we thought were once closed to the gospel are expressing an openness to the message that we have to share. They have expressed gratefulness that we are investing in their children, providing an education in addition providing a meal which demonstrates the love of Christ.

Friends, we could not have done this without you.

We are able to impact Chambrun because of your love, support and prayers.

We want to rejoice in that and want to encourage you to keep on praying and supporting the school. Because of the work that was done last year we now need two more teachers, two additional classrooms, benches, blackboards, books and material for the upcoming school year that begin on September 11th.

We hope to hear from you and covet your prayers for the kids at Chambrun as we are given the opportunity to guide them to find their destiny and fulfill God purpose for their lives.

Those children, just like me many years ago were hopeless and purposeless, but with the education and training they are receiving, we believe that the Lord will raise a generation of young men and women; just as Nehemiah, who would learn to take the responsibility of rebuilding the foundation of the nation. By so doing we would help change Haiti as your investment will make that happen.

Again thank you and may God richly bless you,

Esperandieu & Dianne

Nehemiah Vision Ministries

After much prayer, a vision-guided socio-spiritual movement has started in that community.

The Nehemiah Christian Academy was the first part of this vision, which is to follow by:

  • Secondary school
  • Health center
  • Trade school
  • Multipurpose building for conferences, worship & bible study.

The elementary school with 50 children from four to sixteen years old have been reaching out to train and equip the next generation to help transform Haiti. Many of those children are orphans, others have parents that cannot provide at all for them and many others were born in difficult and unplanned situations.

The logistic of N.C.A.
An abandoned building from the community is now being temporarily used to house the current elementary school with the hope to build our own building very soon. Meanwhile we have repaired and divided the two rooms available and turned them into four classrooms, including the principal’s office. The playground is small but is being well used by our children. Benches and blackboards are in poor conditions but are being used to keep the school running, with the hope of replacing them as soon as the Lord provides the financial resources.
